Are you one of those people if you have something scheduled to do, that maybe you grumble and groan and gripe a little bit, and maybe you don't want to do it and you talk yourself out of it?
Maybe something as valuable as a daily fitness class at 8 am, do you actually grumble a little bit and go oh man, i don't know, I've got so much to do. I think it's Tuesday and I really don't want to do it until Wednesday. And then on Wednesday, but it's Wednesday today, and on and on and on, do you come up with excuse after excuse?
So let me ask you something, and here's something to think about When you view something you have scheduled to do, be it a fitness class, be it a maybe a work assignment, be it maybe mowing the yard, whatever... do you look at it as an opportunity or an obligation?
See, this is a simple mind shift that can help you do things that you know are good for you.
So an obligation is something you have to do. You're required to do it. I told these people I'd come visit and gosh, so, dog gone, I'm going to go do it.
An opportunity is looking at it in a different light. Let's take 8 am fitness classes. Okay, you have an 8 am fitness class and you feel obligated. Oh my gosh, i got to get up and go. If I don't, the instructor is going to call me out. My friends are going to call me out. I have to do this.
Well, maybe I'm not, but what if you look at it as an opportunity? It's an opportunity to go for this fitness class so that you can move well, you can stay healthy, You can be happy. That's a different attitude.
And why do you go to that fitness class? Because you don't want to age sitting in a chair, sitting in a rocker, being sore and stiff and in pain and miserable.
You want to age strong. You want to be able to keep up with your grandkids, you want to be able to outdo your grandkids, you want to make them tired.
You want to be able to travel, you want to be able to go out to dinner, you want to be able to do all these amazing things that you love to do that fill up your life.
Well, that's why you're going to the class. You have the opportunity to go to this class, which is designed to help you thrive, to help you be that person that you want to be.
So is it an obligation or is it an opportunity?
That's up for you to decide. But if you start viewing things in life as opportunities, I think you're going to see a major change in your results.
Until I talk to you tomorrow, move well, stay healthy, be happy, live today and every day with passion.
