I was just talking to my daughter Kim. One of the things that drives her crazy is people say to her, you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks... Seriously?

Especially if you're 40 or 50 years old.

Come on, come on. That's not true.

In fact, I looked it up. There are eight famous companies started by people in their fifties and older.

So if you're younger than 50, even 60, you got no excuse at all.

Let's go through these real quick because I found them and I was just really amazed.

When he was 50 Leo Goodwin started the insurance company, Geico.

At 62 Harlan Sanders create Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Ray Crock created McDonald's when he was 52 years old.

Bernie Marcus opened the first Home Depot when he was 50.

Martha Stewart was 50 when she publish to her first magazine. Martha Stewart Living.

At 54 Wally Bloom founded Denali Flavors, an ice cream. I've never had Denali Flavors, an ice cream company. It must be an East coast thing. If you've had Denali Flavors, let me know if it's any good or not.

55 Arianna Huffington launched the Huffington Post.

Julia Rain Wright founded her fashion company, the Real Real when she was in her mid fifties.

Don't give me that excuse. I mean, I'll take a lot of excuses. But don't look at us and say you can't teach an old dog new tricks because old dogs learn new tricks all the time. I learn things every single day.

You've gotta be open to learning. You've gotta be willing to make changes that will help you live a long fit, healthy, happy life.

That's today's message. May you move well, stay healthy and be happy. Talk to you tomorrow.
