What in the world is that big ball up in the sky?
I live in the Pacific Northwest. We're not used to this stuff and I'm grumbling a little bit. In fact standing in the windows here it's really warm. It makes lighting for my videos really tough.
Whine, whine, whine.
You know, we all do that. It doesn't matter what the weather is, it doesn't matter what's going.
We have a tendency to not accept and not embrace today. And I have to be honest with you, I like cloudy days. It's one reason I live in the Pacific Northwest. I grew up in San Diego and we saw this, oh my God, 320 days a year and more.
So having the weather, the different patterns, having the coolness of clouds and the comfortableness of clouds and temperatures. Usually in the sixties, fifties and sixties, gets down in the forties... once in a while we go really low and really high, but so did San Diego.
What I want to point out today is learn to embrace the day. I learned to get out on a day like this. I took the littles, our two little puppies. We went for a walk earlier today.
Things I can't do this time of year, especially. I'm recording this in January of 2023 and it's tough sometimes this time of year to get out and to enjoy the outdoors.
So we went down the river walk, we played a little bit. We chased some geese. We had some fun.
Things that if I just sit around grousing about it being sunny... and I know, I know, I know, that doesn't make any sense at all, does it to you?
But you know, sometimes I like a nice cloudy day. I don't have to wear sunglasses, you know, and walk around and have trouble seeing the glare. I have a nice backlit room here when, when it's cloudy out.
So, you know, that's my point, is just take whatever the day brings you and we're not talking about just weather.
Maybe have a little up... a little down. You don't get to it. Don't get too excited over anything. Don't get down over anything. I always love that. And, and you can look for this in the podcast.
Just type in the search. Maybe on our podcast page, if you go to Real people.fit, great little story about, you know, things that are good, things that seem bad. And the response was always maybe, and then it turned around the other way.
Well think about that with every day of your life. Maybe you get up in the morning and you get some news and it's just terrible and somebody says, that's not good, and you go maybe.
And so that's it. Just take everything with a little grain of salt.
Try not to be too manic or too depressed and just roll along and enjoy your life. When you do that, the stress will be reduced and you will thrive. You'll be fit, healthy, happy...
We always come down to getting rid of anxiety, getting rid of depression and just enjoying every minute of your life.
Cuz why waste a minute? I remember in school one time I was watching the clock tick to three o'clock. We got out at three and it was like five minutes till and I'm just fixated on that clock. And the teacher looked at me and said, David, you're watching the clock? And I said, yeah. And she goes, why are you wishing your life away?
I stopped for a moment and I said, huh, I think it was fifth or sixth. She said, no, think about it. You are wishing your life way. These five minutes of your life are five minutes you could really enjoy, but you're not, you're looking to the future. I mean, in a way she was teaching me to be present and be in the now, even before that was a popular thing.
So I thought that was brilliant. So that's what I'm asking you today, to be in the now, to not wish your life away. Don't wish for that rainy day to go away. Embrace it. Be fascinated by it.
