After the last couple of episodes, I'm tempted to retitle our podcast Jaw jacking with Dave, cuz they were, they were podcasts that kind of rambled a little bit, but at the same time, we're trying to get important thoughts across.
Finding somebody to talk to, being kind and loving with everybody no matter what their politics. And just basically getting your head on straight, making your health, your fitness yourself a priority.
Well, that's today's message. Let's make ourselves a priority. You know, there's certain things you need to do if you want to age well.
You have to breathe deeply, you have to hydrate, you've gotta move, you've gotta work out a little bit.
And by workout, I don't mean. , mind numbing, weight pumping and such. I mean, find a class, find something that's fun. Do you like to dance? Do you like to do yoga? Do you like to stretch? Find something you like to do that's fun for you to do, and then make that a priority in your life.
And you gotta get your head on straight.
My God, so many of these podcasts turn into... almost counseling sessions because I found for myself, all of this stuff is easy. The deep breath, the hydration, it really is. Once you decide that, that's what you wanna do. Once you seriously make a decision, this is who I want to be, this is what I want to do.
Once you make that decision, and once your mind is wrapped around it, and once you get rid of all that garbage, all that garbage from childhood... and maybe you've been abused, maybe you were beaten, maybe you've had spouses who treated you poorly.
That's tough. That's really tough.
But how about we choose to move on?
You can't let that stuff go. You're always gonna think about that stuff, but can we remove the emotional charge from it?
There's a couple different ways to do that. One is just bull bullying, like a bull running right through it and just kind of destroying it and having intellectual.
I usually find the intellectual is not enough. I need to throw some emotions in. That's where I'll go to like tapping sessions or meditations.
A lot of things we offer at RiversZen. I will go to those and use those. Because once you take off that, that angst... that where you think about a situation where somebody was mean to you, maybe when you were a little kid, and every time you do you get that knot in your stomach.
That's where we wanna go, it's okay to think about that because it's good to remember the past. It's good to remember what happened. Maybe it's something you can correct. Maybe it's something you can guard against.
Yes, but if you get rid of that knot in your stomach, you get rid of that stress, that anxiety, that angst comes up, that turns your day from positive to negative.
If you can just think about that situation and say, you know what, man, it happened. No, I don't want it happen again. No, I, I've forgiven that person, but I don't really want anything to do with them because I don't trust them.
That's okay, because as long as you don't have that angst, as long as it doesn't take your day and destroy it, and then you can let it go and move on.
Hey, that's what we need to do. That's how we have to handle it.
So as much as all the physical that we teach and the hydration and the therapy balls and the straps and, and power flow and butt and gut and everything we present for you to help you to move better, to help you to get out of pain, to help you to feel stronger, it all comes down to that bottom line.
You've gotta get the mindset.
That's today's message. That's enough. Dwell on that. Think about it. See what you can do. Maybe try some tapping sessions.
