Sometimes big emotions, difficult thoughts and challenging experiences are just plain hard to sit with.

Often we want to get far, far away from them and as quickly as possible.

Although it might be tempting to avoid or suppress our emotions there is so much good that can happen when we give ourselves the chance to be with our thoughts and emotions. To acknowledge them and to learn from them.

Author and psychotherapist, lori Gottlieb, says it well. She says when we stop and observe our thoughts and emotions as clues to be followed, not threats to guard against, we can see so much more of the story. She also says, don't judge your feelings. Notice them. Use them as for a map.

What would it be like to frame things this way today? To allow all your thoughts and emotions to be clues and helpers. To use them as a map to guide you as you uncover a path forward. What would it be like to see them? All of your emotions as allies. And creating a great day for yourself.

The truth is feelings and thoughts don't have to be good or bad. They don't have to be something to avoid or fear. On the contrary, they can be powerful clues and helpers. Sometimes we need to get clear, and what we don't want in order to get clear, on what we do want.

All these emotions can help us to know more about ourselves and our experiences, and they can help us create a map to guide us forward when we're having trouble finding our way.

So I hope today instead of judging your feelings, you welcome all of them. You stop and you observe them. Every feeling is here to teach you something. Ask your feelings, how they can help you to have the best day possible.
